Double triumph in Beijing - 2011 and 2016
Agnieszka adores Asia, and this is mutual. In Asian tournaments, Agnieszka achieved the highest success and won the largest number of titles. She is in her element there, and during each tournament she is surrounded by crowd of fans. In Beijing, in 2009, Agnieszka played in the final, and in 2011 and 2016, she won the title.
In 2011, Agnieszka for the first time won a tournament of the WTA Premier Mandatory rank. Thanks to that achievement she found herself in the TOP10 ranking for good, and she confirmed her advance to the WTA Finals. In the match for the final triumph Agnieszka played with Andrea Petkovic, whom she defeated 7:5, 0:6, 6:4.
The win in 2016, was the memorable twentieth title in her senior career. In the final, Agnieszka defeated Johanna Konta 6:4, 6:2.
Agnieszka is the first female tennis player who won twice the China Open of the Premier Mandatory rank (the tournament in Beijing has had this rank since 2009). It is the third title of this rank in Agnieszka's career, which places her right next to Serena Williams, Victoria Azarenka, Simona Halep, Petra Kvitova, Caroline Wozniacki and Maria Sharapova, in the world’s elite of tennis players who have won at least three Premier Mandatory trophies.
