Exactly on February 25th, 2012, Agnieszka won the eighth title in her professional career. By winning the tournament in Dubai the 23-year-old tennis player from Krakow advanced to No. 5 in the WTA ranking.

For Agnieszka Radwańska the tournament in the United Arab Emirates was a great chance to achieve the highest, at that time, ranking in her career. Thanks to the unbelievable performance during the whole tournament, Agnieszka advanced to the tenth final in her career, in which she played Julia Goerges.

The Polish tennis player played very soundly in Dubai, having actually the greatest problems in the first round, in which, after three sets, she eventually defeated Aleksandra Woźniak. In the quarter finals, she did not leave much hope to Sabina Lisicki, and in the decisive match she found a way to end it in two sets.

The recipe for the atomic smashes of her German rival was the sophisticated, intelligent play and a plethora of unbelievable actions. Agnieszka made a minimal number of mistakes. She played very consistently, and responded to the force with her great technique. The match with Julia Goerges ended with the score of 7:5, 6:4.

Agnieszka Radwańska about the final:

"During the entire week I showed good tennis here, so I’m happy with my performance, and I would like to thank my Polish fans for their support. I’m delighted with my win, but it wasn’t really easy today. I tried to play from score to score, but Julia didn’t let it go, even for a moment. However, I managed to win, and now I’ll advance in the ranking again. It is a great start of the season, and I hope that the whole year is like that."

The 2012 season was very successful for Agnieszka, and it is considered by many fans as the best season in her career. Aga won in Dubai, Miami, and Brussels. She played in the final of the famous Wimbledon tournament, and advanced to No. 2 in the WTA ranking. Taking over the position of the vice-leader is Agnieszka Radwańska’s greatest success, and the greatest individual achievement of Polish tennis.
